Wings

Wings

I am in a cage
And I need to be set free
To spread my wings
And fly away
To shatter things past

I am in a cage
And I need to be set free
To feel the whispering wind
In my wings

I am in a cage
And I need to be set free
To open my wings
And find the key

I am in a cage
And I need to be set free
I am in a cage
And I need to be set free
To span my majestic wings
And try
I am in a cage
And I need to be set free

I am in a cage
And I need to be set free
To fly away
And chase my dreams

I am in a cage
And I need to be set free
To spread my wings
And fly away

I am a bird
And all birds can fly
FREE

Frail

Frail

“It’s all so dead.” “I know.” She tranquilly whispers. “I don’t want to leave you.” “You have to.” She calmly hums back. “I’m so cold.” “I know just be calm.” A gentle snow begins to fall. Wilted flowers, brown grass and bare trees. I sit up straight, I feel light headed. “I like laying here with you.” She murmurs. She floats up. I carefully place my hand on your shoulder. “You’re freezing.” “I’m dead.” My hand fades through her shoulder. “I can’t live like this anymore.” “What do you mean?” she asks gently. “I want to know how it feels to touch you, to kiss you and not the air.” “That shouldn’t change anything.” A broken winged grey butterfly flutters by. She puts her hand out it midair and it flies right through her. “I don’t want to live like this Rose.” Her eyes glance up from the dead grass. “It’s so quiet here. I doubt anyone would even hear.” “I want to know what it feels like to, hold you, to feel your skin against mine. Do it Rose.” I look at her eyes, do it now.” “But you have so much more to live ahead of you.” “It’s not worth it if I can’t spend it with you, do it, do it now Rose.” “Promise me, this is what you want?” “Yes.” I lean into kiss her and she plunges a dagger into my heart. And finally, my lips touch hers.
